A labor of love. 90+ hours of work went into this project over the month of September 2017 leading up to Halo 3's 10th Anniversary.
This is just a personal project, but one I was truly passionate about. With no Halo 3: Anniversary being released I knew that I wanted to do something special for the 10th anniversary. The project was sort of inspired by Blur Studios. I was of course severely limited by what I could do since I was working with Halo 3's vanilla cinematics.
The trailer is a custom edit, some bits are inspired by the Halo 3 launch trailer. I added depth of field to many of the shots which required some painstaking roto work. Heavy color correction work was done. Halo 3 looks vibrant but the color palette is actually very dull at times. Chief's armor melts into the environment at times. Color correction and grading were done to help combat this. Halo Youtuber MetalHeadSpartan helped by contributing his SFM skills so we could successfully add back the co-op Elites at the end.
